about
Since meeting during their first year at university in York, production duo Clifford’s Tower (comprised of Synthetic Epiphany and Alex Robertson) have been playing their cards close to their chest with regards to the release of their material, however they now hop onto the Soundhall roster to put out their debut EP entitled “Night Eyes”. Holding onto the key principles of downtempo electronic music, the duo weave woozy synths and drums with intoxicating vocal samples, not least on stand-out track “Heslington Road”, which was inspired by and named after a street near where the duo live.
And, in anticipation of the release, Soundhall co-owner Lapse (support from Icicle, Troy Gunner, Synkro & Indigo) added his unique touch to the aforementioned track, bringing the tempo down and altering the chord progression slightly, but still managing to maintain the unmistakable vibe of the original.
Clifford Tower's 'Night Eyes' EP is out on the 5th September.
